Distance from Hay: 3.2 miles
Wayside is a delightful 3 bedroom cottage on the edge of the pretty little village of Llowes just over 6 minutes from Hay on Wye - the famous Town of Books. The cottage is very spacious with separate lounge, dining room and kitchen. There are wonderful views of the Black Mountains upstairs.
The location is ideal for rural walks and numerous outdoor activities such as canoeing, pony trekking, gorge walking, abseiling and fishing to name but a few. The latest addition to Wayside Cottage is a lovely new log burner! Logs are provided - along with an 'Honesty Box' to cover cost of the firewood.
One well behaved dog very welcome!
The cottage is very spacious and ideal for families with children (see note below). You have a large lounge, very spacious dining room with industrial style dining room table using reclaimed wood - perfectly designed to hide blemishes - and then the well-equipped kitchen with a 4 seater table – ideal for jigsaws! Outside there is a good sized garden with table and chairs.
Next to the kitchen is a utility room with a washer/dryer. The cottage has 3 bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin & 1 single bedroom) – and all the bedrooms have those lovely views of the Black Mountains. Upstairs there is a bathroom with a toilet and there is also a toilet and shower downstairs. There is off-road parking for 3 cars beside the front gate.
No smoking. Sorry - but we can't accept parties or events.
Please note the staircase is not safe or suitable for children of 0 -7 years of age as the staircase only has a handrail on one side and is open on the other side. See photo. We have had children stay with no mishap but parents must take full responsibility for their welfare. The stairway is due to have additional handrails installed very soon.
The cottage is 3.2 miles from Hay and 2 miles from Glasbury.
Min 3 nights (no check in on a Saturday or Sunday). If you need a weekend check in please enquire as I may be able to change cleaning dates.
NOTE: The cottage location is on the A438 Hereford Road - set back from the road by the entrance to the village. Please contact Sarah at Visithay on 07375 396748 with any specific requirements you might have regarding your stay.
