Distance from Hay: 10 minutes drive from Hay
Courtleet House is a centuries-old traditional Welsh cottage just 3 miles from Hay, with stunning views over the Wye valley. It is situated in the quiet hamlet of Fforddlas, and was used by Lord Hereford within living memory to agree rent with his tenants. It is a comfortable and cosy family home. It has a large sitting room, with exposed beams, with a Clearview wood-burning stove (logs supplied at no extra cost), and comfortable chairs and sofa. The dining room has a large table (seats 8), a flag-stone floor, and an open fire. The kitchen is small but convenient, and has a dishwasher, large fridge-freezer and washing machine. There are 3 bedrooms, one with a double and single bed, one with a double, and one with two narrow-width single beds. A cot is available. And there is a double sofa bed in the living room. The upstairs bathroom has a shower over the large P-shaped bath, and there is an extra toilet downstairs. There is a large garden at the back, and off-street parking at the back of the garden. There is WiFi, with superfast fibre-to-the-premises broadband. The cottage is double-glazed and has oil-fired central heating, with radiators throughout. The cottage is on the quiet back road between Hay and Talgarth, and offers relatively easy cycling to both places. Or, if you prefer walking, just step out of the back door for easy access to the foothills of the Black Mountains.
