A beautiful Jacobean townhouse in a quiet but central part of Hay, with a sunken front garden of roses, magnolias and crab apple trees. Built in ca. 1620 it is a Grade II listed building which has been lovingly restored by its previous owners. There is an upstairs sitting room for guests, (maximum of 6 guests) with fridge, kettle and microwave. Guests are also welcome to use the large dining room to sit in or work in at any time of day, and the garden. Free wifi throughout the house. During the main Hay Festival (late May/early June of each year) we provide a continental breakfast around a large shared table in the dining room, or in the garden if the weather is fine, with muesli/cereals, yoghurts, fruit, honey, jam, marmalade, and toast. Outside the main Hay Festival in May/June we do not provide breakfast: guests may wish to make their own breakfast in the guest sitting room, or there are numerous cafes within a short walk of the house. We are not a dedicated B&B; business; this is a family house and we only occasionally let out rooms. We create a welcoming, informal atmosphere and strive to make you feel totally at home here. Please note we have two friendly collie dogs who wander around the ground floor, run about in the garden, and occasionally do bark. There is no parking at the property but the town car park is nearby.
